第805章 引力波

引力波是什么?

引力波是爱因斯坦在100年前,在广义相对论中的一个预言。

广义相对论认为,只要是非零质量的物体,都会导致时空弯曲,这种弯曲会形成一个向外无限延伸的“场”,所有物体包括光都只能在这弯曲的时空中沿着短程线运动,时空弯曲的效果就是以引力的方式表现出来。

这样,牛顿经典力学万有引力理论就得到了一次质的升华,从根源上解释了引力是怎么来的。根据时空弯曲理论,任何物质,只要有质量而不管其大小,都会对周边时空造成弯曲。

这些物质运动变化,就会对周围时空造成扰动,形成像一块石头丢进水里那种一圈圈波纹,向远方扩散,这就是引力波,又叫时空涟漪。

这种波不是瞬时传递的,而是以光速传播。

但爱因斯坦的预言提出100多年来,科学家们穷尽各种办法,一直没有检测到引力波的存在。

因为引力波是十分微弱的波,很难检测到。

上个世纪七十年代,麻省大学泰勒教授和他的学生赫尔斯,通过观察双中子星相互缠绕的现象,用爱因斯坦的理论精确精确计算出两颗中子星轨道变化,从而间接证实了引力波的存在。由此他们获得了1993年的诺贝尔物理学奖,但引力波存在的直接证据一直没有得到。

而现在,对方提出的问题,就是如何直接证实引力波的存在!

这太难了!
